Description
The TESTDATA folder is a bit messy with old and possibly retired data and needs some clean-up:
Also possibly move test-files associated to certain projects into subfolders:
$I3_TESTDATA/[project_name]/testXXX.i3*
as is already done for some projects.

[copied from e-mail conversation]
I understand that this ticket is not high priority and is easily to be
disregarded. However, I find the reason given "old data exists because old code exists" not sufficient. The
testdata folder is very much cluttered with files, given a bit more time
and a change in maintainer, nobody will have a chance to identify things. And I
bet with you that you'll find also orphaned files in this folder as it
is right now.
This could be easily solved by moving the files in accurate subfolders
which are descriptive to their purpose or relating project. The only
thing that needs changing is of cause the path to these testfiles in the
according projects, which really should not be that much work [one could
just move the files and see which tests are failing to find out and
iterate]. So I would appreciate it, even if you want not fix this now,
if you could leave this ticket open to trace this task.
I am happy to discuss.

The attached file contains files that can be safely deleted from test-data. They are not referenced anywhere in the trunk of combo and are not accessed during make test according to strace
